The Vision of Balochistan Prisons Department is the transformation of Prisoner into reformed / rehabilitated citizens.
For achieving this vision, Prison Department uses some tools or facilities for prisoners. Following are some facilities/ Tools which are used for the rehabilitation of Prisoners.
i- Formal Education
Balochistan Prisons Department has great concern for the education of Prisoners. This formal education of prisoners is not only helpful for the prisoners to improve their skills and level of knowledge but it also plays a very vital role in remission. Through improvement of their education a prisoner can avail a handsome fraction of remission from his/her sentence. Balochistan Prison Department has a collaboration with Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE), Quetta and University of Baluchistan (UoB), to conduct level of examination for prisoners. Religious Education is main and most effective covenant for rehabilitation in modern world. Balochistan Prisons Department has also arrangements for Religious Education. These educations are also connected with the remission. In Balochistan the religious education is provided to every prisoner according to their ethnicity.
ii- Informal Education
Balochistan Prisons Department does not only improve the skills of a prisoner but it also makes the prisoner able to earn through Vocational training and informal education so that a prisoner will readjust himself in society with dignity. In Central Prison Mach, there is a factory, run by prisoners. In this factory prisoners produce different products like Furniture, Sofa sets, LED bulbs, Afghani Chapals and shoes. Central Prison Mach is also providing the services of Tailoring, Repairing of Air conditioners and Painting of Vehicles. These skills did not only enhance their capability and earned remission but they are also earning in the jail.
iii- Health and Hygiene
The function of Balochistan Prisons Department is to Control and Custody but it also plays the role of Cure. For this purpose in Prisons there are different medical units, which are providing medical treatment to different types of prisoners. If the treatment of a prisoner is not possible in the premises of a Prison, a Prisoner is referred to the Provincial Government Hospitals. Medical Specialists have their schedule visits to prisons; sometimes they arrange certain visits on the request of Superintendent of the Prisons. Balochistan Prisons Department has arranged a Balanced Diet, prescribed by Nutrition Experts, for all prisoners. Special meals are provided to prisoners during Ramazan, Eid, Christmas and other religious occasions. Water Filtration Plants are installed in different prisons for Prisoners.
Baluchistan Prisons Department has arranged a Balanced Diet, notified by Nutrition Experts, for all prisoners. Special meals are provided to prisoner for Ramazan, Eid, Christ miss and other religious occasions. Water Filtration Plants are installed in different prisons for Prisoners.
iv- Sports and Waiting Sheds
Balochistan Prisons Department provides Indoor and some limited Outdoor sports facilities to prisoners for their recreational activity. For visitors of Prisoners the waiting sheds facilities are provided for their conveyance.
