Prison Department is the third and an important component of Criminal Justice System. Balochistan Prisons Department is a progressive department which function is to rehabilitate a prisoner and to re-adjust as a productive citizen in society. As Jail Department was the legacy of Colonial System and there were so inhuman practices in this Department. Balochistan Prisons Department not only changed the philosophy of Custody and Care of Prisoners but also implemented the best practices of rehabilitation and Human friendly Prisons. Balochistan Prisons Department’s core objectives are Custody, Control, Care, Cure, Correction and Community Re-adjustment. The Department dose not only focuses on rehabilitation through moral education but also provides technical skills that would be helpful for readjustment in society.
